Gold
Truck Stop Network
An ever-expanding truck stop network across the West and Midwest
provides local and nationwide fleet customers with fuels and
services. Exciting News from Sinclair Gold Truck Stops Lamar Missouri is not only home to former President Harry S. Truman, but home to Lamarti’s Travel Center. In 1942 Berryhill Oil Co. started the small gas station in Lamar. In 1961 Fleeter and Margaret Marti leased this small gas station; this was the beginning of their long adventure. In 1966 the small gas station burned down and was re-built again in 1969 with 2 pumps of gas and diesel. Later more pumps were added to the small hometown gas station.
In 1996 the name of Lamarti’s was incorporated. The name Lamarti’s is derived from Lamar and Marti (the last name of Fleeter and Margaret). Today Lamarti’s is a beautiful travel plaza featuring a large store, pharmacy, Denny’s restaurant, truck scale, showers, truck repair shop and motel nearby, and now equipped with 10 diesel lanes.
As you travel on highway 71 in southwest Missouri, stop in Lamar and see why Harry S. Truman and Fleeter and Margaret Marti call Lamar, “Home.” Lamarti’s Travel Center, your home away from home.
