Project BuyerFull-timeSinclair Oil Corporation has a full-time opening for Project Buyer in our Salt Lake City business office Manufacturing department. This position will insure timely and cost-effective procurement and delivery of materials and equipment to support capital projects at both the Sinclair and Casper, Wyoming refineries. Job duties will encompass the full scope of procurement activities including: Developing and administering the project bidding process; managing the documentation of procurement through RFP packages, purchase orders, project scope, data sheets and technical documentation; Reviewing and approving vendor invoices; Coordinating procurement acitivities and logistical arrangements with 3rd party vendors, engineering firms, and contractors; and assisting Supply Chain management in assigned activities. Senior Economics & Planning EngineerFull-timeSinclair Oil Corporation has need of a full-time Senior Economics and Planning Engineer in our Salt Lake City business office. This individual will be responsible for planning and optimization of feedstocks and product slate for one or more company refineries. Primary tasks will be to evaluate crudes and other feedstocks to maximize profitability, tune linear program to actual operations and communicate plans and operational improvement to refinery staff. A secondary task will be providing fuels regulatory guidance and planning to meet upcoming regulations to the refineries. Required skills include: thorough understanding of refining process operations and operating variables, ability to review process operation data and relate it to economic analysis, ability to communicate effectively with refinery personnel to gather data and implement improvements, and the ability to develop both short-term and long-term solutions to resolve operating problems and improve profitability. Linear program interpretation and modification experience required; experience with Haverly Systems LP is desirable. A BS in Engineering and 6+ years of well-rounded refinery process engineering and planning experience required.

Building Craftsman & InsulaterFull-TimeLocated at Sinclair Refinery. This position will be responsible for application, removal, and repair of insulation on industrial equipment, pipes, ductwork, or other mechanical systems and construct, erect, install, and repair structures of wood and plywood materials. Craftsman will need to read and interpret blue prints, determine and select required insulation material (in sheet, tubular, or roll form), such as fiberglass, foam rubber, styrofoam, or urethane, based on material's ability to retain heat, location, surface, shape, and equipment use. This position requires a high school diploma or general education development certificate (GED), Two years of experience in insulating practices and/or construction industry experience. Preference may be given to candidates with insulating experience in oil refineries.
Capital Projects Warehouse Technician (CPWT)Full-TimeLocated at Sinclair Refinery. This position must be able to take the initiative to lead and perform shipping and receiving duties and handle the daily administrative and organizational functions of the Capital Warehouse while following all SWRC Policies, Safety Practices, and OSHA requirements to maintain safe working conditions at all times. Duties, will include but are not limited to, check-in and check –out procedures, storage, and material / equipment returns. The CPWT shall ensure that all materials are received in good condition, in the quantities ordered and take the necessary steps to resolve deficiencies, damages and shortages. CPWT will notify the Project Construction Manager when materials arrive and ensure materials reach intended destination. Successful applicants must have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions and remain professional at all times. 3+ years experience working in a warehouse setting; proficient in the use of MS Outlook, Excel and Word; familiarity of general industrial piping and equipment components. Ability to interpret the National Electric Code successfully is preferred. Understand National Fire Protection Association 70E – Electrical Safety in the work place. Environmental Senior Air Quality EngineerFull-timeLocated at Sinclair Refinery. Sinclair Oil Corporation has an opening for a Senior Environmental Air Quality Engineer to support air quality compliance program development, implementation and execution for the Sinclair Refinery in Rawlins, Wyoming. Field Safety SpecialistFull-TimeLocated at Sinclair Refinery. Assists in ensuring that employee safety programs are developed and implemented and that the company is in compliance with federal, state, and local laws dealing with occupational safety and health stands; conducts training programs to instruct employees in the emergency equipment operation, emergency procedures, and safe work practices; maintains safety related records are required; works with various departments to approve and authorize high risk work through work permitting and inspects work for compliance with permit conditions and applicable procedures, standards and regulations. Requires a degree or equivalent refinery safety experience and preferably the Certified Safety Professional designation or equivalent (e.g. CIH). Is fully knowledgeable of advance concepts and practices in the safety field. The employee applies principle, theories, and concepts required of their discipline. Employee must work independently and act as an integral member of the SWRC Safety Team.
Inspection EngineerFull-TimeLocated at Sinclair Refinery. Sinclair Oil Corporation has an immediate opening for an Inspection Engineer reporting directly to the Sinclair Refinery Inspection Manager located in Sinclair, Wyoming. The position will primarily be responsible for providing technical support to the refinery’s fixed equipment inspection department. Job tasks include, but not limited to, performing Fitness-for-Service evaluations on fixed equipment and piping, performing remaining life determinations, providing engineering evaluations and scopes for inspection-related work, and interpreting and applying applicable codes and standards for the inspection department. Additional duties include leading or participating in incident investigations, conducting site audits, assisting with job safety analyses and carrying out any additional assignments as directed by the Inspection Manager. This position requires the technical background, field experience and working knowledge of appropriate methodologies used to implement and manage effective Fixed Equipment Mechanical Integrity systems and processes to meet the OSHA standards and Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP). Candidates must have 10 –15 years of oil industry experience (preferably refining), a degree or equivalent in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or other related field; working knowledge of API 510 and 570, ASME codes and standards, welding procedures, and fitness for service experience. Ideal candidates will have recent work history in the design or inspection of pressure vessels and piping, a Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain, recent work history of performing level 2 and 3 FFS evaluations, and API 653, and 580/581 certifications. The ideal candidate must have a strong ability to communicate both verbally and in writing and demonstrate knowledge of risk, liability, and process safety management. Strong computer knowledge and skills are a must.
Machinist MechanicFull-TimeLocated at Sinclair Refinery. Responsible for maintaining various types of rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, fans, and blowers and auxiliary systems such as oil mist and hydraulic systems. Alignment of equipment to industry standards using dial indicators or laser alignment equipment, perform close tolerance work on metal machining equipment. Assist the Electrical and Instrumentation group with the installation and removal of electric motors. Qualified applicants must have High school diploma or general education development certificate (GED). Two years experience as a pump and engine mechanic, machinist, or compressor mechanic; or two years of military experience working with pumps, compressors, or engines; or an Associate Degree in industrial machinery maintenance.
Maintenance ApprenticeFull-TimeLocated at the Sinclair Refinery. This is an entry level position with the opportunity to advance into other Refinery craftsman positions. Position will perform physical labor, often outdoors, and in a wide variety of weather conditions. High school diploma or general education development certificate (GED). Preference will be given to those candidates with previous experience in industries such as oil, gas, and construction operations.
Maintenance PlannerFull-TimeLocated at Sinclair Refinery. Responsible for providing job plans for daily maintenance activities. Focuses efforts on preventative, predictive and proactive maintenance tasks in order to reduce reactive maintenance. Identifies and ensures all parts necessary to perform maintenance tasks are procured and kitted prior to job scheduling. The Maintenance Planner role is focused on all aspects of maintenance cost control and acts to interface detailed planning with maintenance crafts people and plant operators. Qualified applicants must have High school diploma or general education development certificate (GED). Six years maintenance or planning experience in the oil and gas industry. Preference may be given to those candidates with previous oil refinery experience. Administer and maintain Maximo in regards to Refinery rotating equipment assets and work management processes. Metal Trades Craftsman / WelderFull-TimeLocated at the Sinclair Refinery. This position requires pipe welding and structural welding, with stringent quality requirements that include radiographic, ultrasonic, penetrant and magnetic particle examination of completed welds. High school diploma or general education development certificate (GED). Three years of welding experience in the oil and gas industry.
PSM TechnicianFull-TimeLocated at Sinclair Refinery. Position supports the PSM group with the implementation of the MOC/PSSR process. Participate in unit PHAs, Incident Investigations, assist with development of Operations and Maintenance procedures/manuals, coordinate audits of PSM related programs and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA 1910.119. Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Inspections to track and complete action items from PHAs and compliance audits. Qualified candidates will demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to interpret and apply regulations, analytical thinking skills, and be able to work well in a deadline driven environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required. Qualified InspectorFull-TimeLocated at the Sinclair Refinery. This position coordinates the refinery’s inspection program for areas of the plant for on-stream data collection/analysis and turnaround planning and execution.  Position will ensure that all equipment and piping is up to date on external, internal, and Ultrasonic Testing inspections and that they are in serviceable condition in accordance with American Petroleum Institute and American Society of Mechanical Engineers Code.  Maintains a liaison with operations, maintenance, and engineering with respect to mechanical integrity for fixed equipment. Knowledge of computer based applications is essential and prior inspection experience (2 year minimum) in refining or a related field is required. This position requires certification in either API 510 or API 570.  This position reports directly to the Inspection Supervisor/Manager.

Inspection TechnicianFull-TimeLocated at Casper Refinery. We currently have a full-time non-exempt opening for an Inspection Technician, reporting directly to the refinery Inspection Manager. The Inspection Technician is responsible for performing basic nondestructive testing and completing inspection related functions. JOB DUTIES include: Executing inspection plans as directed on refinery equipment; Completing all required documentation and interpreting industry and regulatory codes and specifications; Periodically review and update Inspection procedures; Perform Nondestructive tests (Magnetic Particle-MT, Liquid Penetrant-PT, Ultrasonic Thickness-UTT, and others); Enter data from field examinations into Inspection software; Other duties as specified by the Inspection Manager. Maintenance & Reliability EngineerFull-TimeLocated at Casper Refinery. As part of the Maintenance & Reliability team, the Maintenance & Reliability Engineer champions and leads the refinery’s Reliability Strategy. In addition, the engineer provides technical support to the Maintenance Teams and others throughout the refinery as needed. This position identifies and develops improvement ideas and changes in their area of responsibility and manages projects as assigned. This position requires close networking with various personnel to recognize, evaluate and improve upon potential EHS, Maintenance and operating risks and/or inefficiencies. The position also requires familiarity of and compliance with various practices, codes, standards and regulations. This job description is intended to provide an overview of the position and does not include all the tasks that might be required to provide support for the job requirements. Essential Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree. PC/Desktop Support TechnicianFull-TimeLocated at Casper Refinery. We currently have an opening in the Casper Wyoming Refinery IT Department for a PC/Desktop Support Technician. We are seeking an individual with strong communication and organizational skills. This position supports desktops, applications, and network attached printers in Sinclair’s Wyoming refineries. Experience installing, repairing and troubleshooting computers and applications in a Windows networking environment is required. Experience with VMware View (VDI) and associated terminals is preferred. VoIP experience is beneficial. Limited travel and after hours service work will be required.
