Corporate Turnaround Senior Planner & SchedulerFull-timeSinclair Oil Corporation is seeking a full-time Corporate Turnaround Senior Planner/Scheduler that will report to our Corporate Refinery Turnaround group located in Salt Lake City, Utah. This position will be located in Rawlins, Wyoming. This individual will work with corporate turnaround management, construction contractors and refinery personnel through the entire scope of planning, scheduling and executing assigned turnaround events. Job duties will include developing optimal plans consistent with plan objectives; working with general contractors in developing master schedules; assessing turnaround plan costs and conducting field evaluations throughout the turnaround process. The Senior Planner will provide planning support for emergency and smaller components, i.e. boiler, benzene stripper, WWT; that are not typically turnaround responsibilities. The Senior Planner will formulate and execute a process to share knowledge in these areas with company turnaround planners/schedulers and plant project supervisors. Responsible for maintaining the contractor-designed database for planning refinery turnarounds. Must have the ability and capability to relieve Turnaround Managers and/or run a unit turnaround as needed. Travel will vary; up to 30 – 40% of time spent in the field. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 15 years’ experience with planning turnaround work and in supervising and managing mechanical craft employees plus 5 years of scheduling experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Maximo and Primavera 6 applications preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Construction and/or Engineering related field preferred.
Environmental Air Quality EngineerFull-timeSinclair Oil Corporation has an opening for an Environmental Air Quality Engineer to support air quality monitoring systems and reporting for the Sinclair Refinery in Rawlins, Wyoming. The position will be located in Rawlins, Wyoming. InternPart-timeSinclair Crude Company is offering a temporary part-time internship in our Salt Lake City office. This opening will require 20 hours/week; however the schedule will be flexible. This internship will provide the opportunity to learn about the oil industry and will include involvement in research, negotiations, general business processes, supply to refineries, transportation and logistics. Duties will include reconciliation tasks, data entry and tracking, program monitoring, records retention, and other administrative duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, dependable, detail oriented and able to work with others in a team environment. Electrical and Instrumentation TechnicianFull-TimeInstall, repair and troubleshoot Refinery electrical equipment and instrumentation. High school diploma or general education development certificate (GED) required. A state issued Journeyman’s or Master’s license is required (or must be obtained within the first year of employment). Ability to interpret the National Electric Code successfully is preferred. Understand National Fire Protection Association 70E – Electrical Safety in the work place. Experience in Industrial and Commercial Electrical Installations for Classification and both digital and analog instrumentation signals. Knowledge of low, medium and high voltage and 24-volt applications of electrical and instrumentation as well as pneumatic valves and controllers.
Field Safety SpecialistFull-TimeLocated at Sinclair Refinery. Assists in ensuring that employee safety programs are developed and implemented and that the company is in compliance with federal, state, and local laws dealing with occupational safety and health stands; conducts training programs to instruct employees in the emergency equipment operation, emergency procedures, and safe work practices; maintains safety related records are required; works with various departments to approve and authorize high risk work through work permitting and inspects work for compliance with permit conditions and applicable procedures, standards and regulations. Requires a degree or equivalent refinery safety experience and preferably the Certified Safety Professional designation or equivalent (e.g. CIH). Is fully knowledgeable of advance concepts and practices in the safety field. The employee applies principle, theories, and concepts required of their discipline. Employee must work independently and act as an integral member of the SWRC Safety Team.
Maintenance ApprenticeFull-TimeLocated at the Sinclair Refinery. This is an entry level position with the opportunity to advance into other Refinery craftsman positions. Position will perform physical labor, often outdoors, and in a wide variety of weather conditions. High school diploma or general education development certificate (GED). Preference will be given to those candidates with previous experience in industries such as oil, gas, and construction operations.
Metal Trades Craftsman / WelderFull-TimeLocated at the Sinclair Refinery. This position requires pipe welding and structural welding, with stringent quality requirements that include radiographic, ultrasonic, penetrant and magnetic particle examination of completed welds. High school diploma or general education development certificate (GED). Three years of welding experience in the oil and gas industry.
Metal Trades SupervisorFull-TimeLocated at the Sinclair Refinery. This position will lead and manage the performance and development of craftsmen and provide the equipment, materials and training to properly execute work tasks. Responsible for the safe and timely execution of work tasks assigned to the metal trades department. High school diploma or general education development certificate (GED). Six years of experience in the metal trades or related field. Preference given to those candidates with previous experience in oil and gas industry or oil refineries. Proficient in computer usage including Microsoft Office Suite and computer maintenance management software (i.e. Maximo).
PSM TechnicianFull-TimeLocated at Sinclair Refinery. Position supports the PSM group with the implementation of the MOC/PSSR process. Participate in unit PHAs, Incident Investigations, assist with development of Operations and Maintenance procedures/manuals, coordinate audits of PSM related programs and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA 1910.119. Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Inspections to track and complete action items from PHAs and compliance audits. Qualified candidates will demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to interpret and apply regulations, analytical thinking skills, and be able to work well in a deadline driven environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required. Records Management Specialist 1Full-TimeLocated at the Sinclair Refinery. This position will assist in processing incoming information, sort, classify, and code material for integration into systems or into storage areas. Maintain accurate logs and indexes to provide status of information and retrieve / reference information for users. Applicants must be computer literate and proficient in the use Microsoft Office with excellent organizational skills, the ability to multi task, and to communicate effectively (both verbal and written). Preference may be given to applicants familiar with refinery systems, piping specifications, and prior records management experience. Knowledge of Documentum and CAD are a plus.
Rotating Machinery Engineer / SpecialistFull-TimeLocated at Sinclair Refinery. This position will serve as a subject matter expert for all issues pertaining to rotating machinery in the refinery including pumps, compressors, turbines fans, blowers, gearboxes and large motors.  Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering; a combination of education and experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree will be considered. Five years relevant industry experience preferred. Knowledge of industry standards and other applicable codes. Proven knowledge of preventive/predictive maintenance methodologies and technologies. Proven ability to lead/participate on cross functional teams. Six sigma green belt certification, SMRP certification preferred. Good analytical and problem solving skills. Staff InspectorFull-Time6 Positions open at Sinclair Refinery. Position ranges from Entry Level to Senior Level based on experience and credentials. Coordinates the refinery’s inspection program for areas of the plant for on-stream data collection/analysis and turnaround planning and execution. Maintains a liaison with operations, maintenance, and engineering with respect to mechanical integrity for fixed equipment. Knowledge of computer based applications is essential. These positions report directly to the Inspection Supervisor/Manager.

Inspection TechnicianFull-TimeLocated at Casper Refinery. We currently have a full-time non-exempt opening for an Inspection Technician, reporting directly to the refinery Inspection Manager. The Inspection Technician is responsible for performing basic nondestructive testing and completing inspection related functions. JOB DUTIES include: Executing inspection plans as directed on refinery equipment; Completing all required documentation and interpreting industry and regulatory codes and specifications; Periodically review and update Inspection procedures; Perform Nondestructive tests (Magnetic Particle-MT, Liquid Penetrant-PT, Ultrasonic Thickness-UTT, and others); Enter data from field examinations into Inspection software; Other duties as specified by the Inspection Manager. PC/Desktop Support TechnicianFull-TimeLocated at Casper Refinery. We currently have an opening in the Casper Wyoming Refinery IT Department for a PC/Desktop Support Technician. We are seeking an individual with strong communication and organizational skills. This position supports desktops, applications, and network attached printers in Sinclair’s Wyoming refineries. Experience installing, repairing and troubleshooting computers and applications in a Windows networking environment is required. Experience with VMware View (VDI) and associated terminals is preferred. VoIP experience is beneficial. Limited travel and after hours service work will be required.
