InternPart-timeSinclair Crude Company is offering a temporary part-time internship in our Salt Lake City office. This opening will require 20 hours/week; however the schedule will be flexible. This internship will provide the opportunity to learn about the oil industry and will include involvement in research, negotiations, general business processes, supply to refineries, transportation and logistics. Duties will include reconciliation tasks, data entry and tracking, program monitoring, records retention, and other administrative duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, dependable, detail oriented and able to work with others in a team environment. This individual will be able to manage multiple competing priorities, demonstrate organization and prioritization abilities and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. This individual must be able to present themselves in a professional and approachable manner with all levels of the organization. Technical InternPart-timeSinclair Crude Supply is offering a six month part-time internship in our Salt Lake City office for a Computer Science student with experience in the MS.Net platform. This opening will require 30 hours/week from March-August with occasional business travel. Electrical and Instrumentation TechnicianFull-TimeInstall, repair and troubleshoot Refinery electrical equipment and instrumentation. High school diploma or general education development certificate (GED) required. A state issued Journeyman’s or Master’s license is required (or must be obtained within the first year of employment). Ability to interpret the National Electric Code successfully is preferred. Understand National Fire Protection Association 70E – Electrical Safety in the work place. Experience in Industrial and Commercial Electrical Installations for Classification and both digital and analog instrumentation signals. Knowledge of low, medium and high voltage and 24-volt applications of electrical and instrumentation as well as pneumatic valves and controllers.
Field Safety SpecialistFull-TimeLocated at Sinclair Refinery. Assists in ensuring that employee safety programs are developed and implemented and that the company is in compliance with federal, state, and local laws dealing with occupational safety and health stands; conducts training programs to instruct employees in the emergency equipment operation, emergency procedures, and safe work practices; maintains safety related records are required; works with various departments to approve and authorize high risk work through work permitting and inspects work for compliance with permit conditions and applicable procedures, standards and regulations. Requires a degree or equivalent refinery safety experience and preferably the Certified Safety Professional designation or equivalent (e.g. CIH). Is fully knowledgeable of advance concepts and practices in the safety field. The employee applies principle, theories, and concepts required of their discipline. Employee must work independently and act as an integral member of the SWRC Safety Team.
Maintenance ApprenticeFull-TimeLocated at the Sinclair Refinery. This is an entry level position with the opportunity to advance into other Refinery craftsman positions. Position will perform physical labor, often outdoors, and in a wide variety of weather conditions. High school diploma or general education development certificate (GED). Preference will be given to those candidates with previous experience in industries such as oil, gas, and construction operations.
Metal Trades Craftsman / WelderFull-TimeLocated at the Sinclair Refinery. This position requires pipe welding and structural welding, with stringent quality requirements that include radiographic, ultrasonic, penetrant and magnetic particle examination of completed welds. High school diploma or general education development certificate (GED). Three years of welding experience in the oil and gas industry.
PSM TechnicianFull-TimeLocated at Sinclair Refinery. Position supports the PSM group with the implementation of the MOC/PSSR process. Participate in unit PHAs, Incident Investigations, assist with development of Operations and Maintenance procedures/manuals, coordinate audits of PSM related programs and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA 1910.119. Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Inspections to track and complete action items from PHAs and compliance audits. Qualified candidates will demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to interpret and apply regulations, analytical thinking skills, and be able to work well in a deadline driven environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in refining or chemical processing industries preferred. This position reports to the PSM Engineer.
Records Management Specialist 1Full-TimeLocated at the Sinclair Refinery. This position will assist in processing incoming information, sort, classify, and code material for integration into systems or into storage areas. Maintain accurate logs and indexes to provide status of information and retrieve / reference information for users. Applicants must be computer literate and proficient in the use Microsoft Office with excellent organizational skills, the ability to multi task, and to communicate effectively (both verbal and written). Preference may be given to applicants familiar with refinery systems, piping specifications, and prior records management experience. Knowledge of Documentum and CAD are a plus.
Staff InspectorFull-Time6 Positions open at Sinclair Refinery. Position ranges from Entry Level to Senior Level based on experience and credentials. Coordinates the refinery’s inspection program for areas of the plant for on-stream data collection/analysis and turnaround planning and execution. Maintains a liaison with operations, maintenance, and engineering with respect to mechanical integrity for fixed equipment. Knowledge of computer based applications is essential. These positions report directly to the Inspection Supervisor/Manager.

DCS/ControlsTemporaryThis position’s primary focus will be completing field walk downs REDD Engineering’s P&ID updates and completing Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) Database updates to reflect as-built work and FCCU Turnaround changes. Position will assist with DCS hardware upgrades and module replacements for summer turnarounds as well as preventative maintenance efforts as assigned.
Electrical or Civil/StructuralTemporaryThis position will assist electrical engineers with electrical reliability projects (electrical) or work with civil/structural engineers on their projects as assigned to include EDRs, and development of cost estimates. Qualification Preference: Junior or senior working towards Electrical or Civil Engineering degree.
Engineering Admin AssistantTemporaryThis position will assist the engineering administrative assistant with tracking / managing change requests for non-projects and CAD requests from PSSR walk downs in addition to assisting the project coordinator with managing project requests and cost accounting.
Industrial Hygiene InternTemporaryThis position will conduct chemical and particulate monitoring, noise dosimetry and collect spot readings. Position will draft reports of monitoring data and observations, draft personal notifications and postings of monitoring results and conduct chemical inventories. Lab TechniciansTemporaryWe have three (3) positions. These positions will conduct analysis on process unit samples. Examples include density determinations, viscosity testing, distillations, sulfur analysis, cold property testing, bottle washing, clean-up tasks and administrative tasks as assigned. Qualification Preference: Candidates must be working towards a degree in physical sciences, preferably in chemistry or biology but other disciplines will be considered.
Mechanical EngineerTemporaryThis position will assist mechanical engineers and designers with piping projects and with the summer turnarounds. Position will work with fixed equipment engineers to address repair/ replacement issues with fixed equipment and assist with EDRs and the development of cost estimates. Qualification Preference: Junior or senior working towards Mechanical Engineering degree.
PSM Admin AssistantTemporaryThis position will scan documents for electronic storage; assist with filing MOC documentation and other clerical duties as assigned. Qualification Preference: Attention to detail with a working knowledge of Excel, proficiency with e-mail, strong verbal and written communication skills.
Safety InternTemporaryThis position will assist with work permitting, such as Confined Space Entry, Hot Work, Lock Out Tag Out, etc., and compliance review. Position will participate in Job Safety Analysis, safety meetings and trainings, implementation of OSHA and Sinclair regulatory requirements, and participate in weekly and monthly safety audits.
Warehouse ClerkTemporaryThis position will perform shipping and receiving duties and handle the daily administrative and organizational functions of the warehouse. Requires basic computer skills.

This hourly position will be responsible for providing support to the Maintenance department with emphasis on improving process reliability: These activities include but are not limited to the following: troubleshoot, repair, calibrate process flow, pressure, and level transmitters (pneumatic and electronic) in a safe manner; ability to troubleshoot and repair process control valves; willing to respond to work callout requests and overtime requests as needed; able to effectively communicate with operators to troubleshoot issues and effect repairs in a timely manner; proficiency in computer applications, including Word, Excel and data base program data entry; ability to read and understand manufacturers instruction manuals or use direct contact with a manufacturer to troubleshoot. Preferred skills and knowledge: 3-5 years of experience in the Instrumentation field, refinery experience is a plus; ability to install new process control loops; experience with Siemens DCS (APACS, PCS7) or Foxboro systems preferred.
Inspection TechnicianFull-TimeLocated at Casper Refinery. We currently have a full-time non-exempt opening for an Inspection Technician, reporting directly to the refinery Inspection Manager. The Inspection Technician is responsible for performing basic nondestructive testing and completing inspection related functions. JOB DUTIES include: Executing inspection plans as directed on refinery equipment; Completing all required documentation and interpreting industry and regulatory codes and specifications; Periodically review and update Inspection procedures; Perform Nondestructive tests (Magnetic Particle-MT, Liquid Penetrant-PT, Ultrasonic Thickness-UTT, and others); Enter data from field examinations into Inspection software; Other duties as specified by the Inspection Manager. Maintenance & Reliability EngineerFull-TimeLocated at Casper Refinery. As part of the Maintenance & Reliability team, the Maintenance & Reliability Engineer champions and leads the refinery’s Reliability Strategy. In addition, the engineer provides technical support to the Maintenance Teams and others throughout the refinery as needed. This position identifies and develops improvement ideas and changes in their area of responsibility and manages projects as assigned. This position requires close networking with various personnel to recognize, evaluate and improve upon potential EHS, Maintenance and operating risks and/or inefficiencies. The position also requires familiarity of and compliance with various practices, codes, standards and regulations. This job description is intended to provide an overview of the position and does not include all the tasks that might be required to provide support for the job requirements. Essential Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree. PC/Desktop Support TechnicianFull-TimeLocated at Casper Refinery. We currently have an opening in the Casper Wyoming Refinery IT Department for a PC/Desktop Support Technician. We are seeking an individual with strong communication and organizational skills. This position supports desktops, applications, and network attached printers in Sinclair’s Wyoming refineries. Experience installing, repairing and troubleshooting computers and applications in a Windows networking environment is required. Experience with VMware View (VDI) and associated terminals is preferred. VoIP experience is beneficial. Limited travel and after hours service work will be required.
